Gordon's Trailer Tires

by Gordon
(Mass., USA)

In the summer of 2007 we traveled from Mass. to Alaska via the Alaskian highway, the trip amounted to 12,863 miles and it lasted 9 weeks from the start to finish. I had purchased 4 new Titan st22575r15 load range d tires for this trip with the idea that Titan tires are used on most of the front end loaders, skid steers and backhoes. So my thinking was that if they hold up to that kind of environment, the trailer model would hold up to the kind of a trip. Well, by the time we got home I had replaced all 4 tires with Loadmaster or Goodyears (whatever I could buy when the blow out occured). Titan did warranty about 90% of the cost of the tires but it was a pain in my back to keep changing the blowouts. All the tires failed on the side wall, yet the tires were ST. (not overloader as I had the unit on the scale) I now have a new 30ft trailer and need to replace the tires after only 15,000 miles, (DUO's from China). I am looking at Goodyear Marathon and any other company that makes trailer tires, Carlise is also an option.
